3 Days Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari Itinerary.

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve.

You will be picked up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi in the morning and begin your journey to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve.

Enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley and Narok before arriving in the Masai Mara in time for lunch and check-in at your lodge or camp.

During the wildebeest migration season, the Masai Mara becomes home to enormous herds of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and gazelles as they move through the wider Serengeti–Mara ecosystem in search of fresh grazing.

Later in the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in search of the migrating herds and the predators that follow them, including lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas.

overnight at your lodge or camp in/near Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day 2: Full-Day Wildebeest Migration Experience – Masai Mara.

After an early breakfast, depart with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive focused on the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Spend the day following the massive herds of wildebeest across the open plains of the Masai Mara. Depending on the location and movement of the herds, your guide will take you to areas with the best opportunities to witness thousands of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles moving across the reserve.

A major highlight of the migration safari is the possibility of witnessing the dramatic Mara River crossing, where wildebeest gather along the riverbanks before suddenly crossing the water. However, river crossings are completely unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed, as the animals move according to rainfall, grazing conditions, water availability and other natural factors.

You will also have excellent opportunities to see predators taking advantage of the arrival of the large migratory herds.

Enjoy your picnic lunch in the reserve before continuing your afternoon game drive, following the migration and searching for more wildlife activity.

Overnight at your lodge or camp in/near Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi.

After an early breakfast, check out from your lodge or camp and begin your journey back to Nairobi.

Enjoy the scenic drive through Narok and the Great Rift Valley, arriving in Nairobi later in the afternoon or evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
