5 Days Tanzania Safari: Tarangire, Manyara & Ngorongoro Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where you will be met by your safari representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing at the hotel and preparing for your safari adventure.

Overnight: Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu.

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive.

Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and diverse wildlife. During the game drive, you may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes and numerous bird species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with an afternoon game drive.

Later in the afternoon, depart Tarangire and drive towards Karatu, where you will check in and relax at your lodge.

Overnight: Karatu.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive.

The park sits beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment and features a variety of habitats, including groundwater forests, open woodland and the lake itself. Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, baboons, hippos and a wide variety of birdlife. Lake Manyara is also known for its famous tree-climbing lions.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the safari before continuing with the afternoon game drive.

Later, return to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Karatu.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu.

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive.

Explore the crater floor, where you can see a remarkable concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and, with luck, the endangered black rhino. The crater is part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is also known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes and diverse wildlife.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing with the afternoon game drive.

In the late afternoon, ascend from the crater and return to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Karatu.

Day 5: Karatu – Kilimanjaro International Airport.

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey back towards Kilimanjaro International Airport.
