8-Day Tanzania Safari & Great Migration Safari Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will have the opportunity to relax and recover from your journey. The rest of the day is at leisure in preparation for your safari adventure.

Overnight: Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park.

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a game drive exploring the park, with opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, lions and other wildlife.

After the game drive, proceed to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Tarangire Area.

Day 3: Tarangire – Central Serengeti.

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, travelling through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania. Upon entering the Serengeti, begin your game viewing as you make your way towards the central-west/eastern areas of the park.

The Central Serengeti is well known for its abundant resident wildlife and excellent opportunities to see predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards.

Continue to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Central Serengeti.

Day 4: Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti | Great Migration.

After breakfast, head towards Northern Serengeti, an important area for the Great Migration during the appropriate season. Enjoy game viewing along the way as you follow the movement of the wildebeest and other migrating animals.

The northern Serengeti is particularly renowned for the possibility of witnessing wildebeest gathering around the Mara River. If the herds are in the area and conditions are suitable, there may be an opportunity to witness a Mara River crossing. However, river crossings are natural events and cannot be guaranteed.

Overnight: Northern Serengeti.

Day 5: Full-Day Northern Serengeti | Great Migration.

Spend a full day exploring Northern Serengeti in search of the Great Migration. Your game drives will focus on areas where the migrating herds are located, while also allowing opportunities to observe the region’s resident wildlife and predators.

Depending on the location and movement of the herds, you may have another opportunity to witness a Mara River crossing. The timing of crossings is unpredictable, so sightings depend entirely on natural conditions and herd movements.

Return to your accommodation after the day’s game drive for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Northern Serengeti.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti – Central Serengeti.

After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Central Serengeti. Enjoy game viewing en route, taking advantage of the opportunity to explore different parts of the Serengeti ecosystem.

Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and various antelope species, as well as predators that inhabit the plains.

Arrive at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Central Serengeti

Day 7: Central Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area | Crater Tour.

After breakfast, depart Serengeti and drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying game viewing along the way.

Upon arrival at the Ngorongoro Crater, descend into the crater for an extensive game drive. The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife, offering opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and other species. With luck, you may also encounter the endangered black rhinoceros.

After the crater experience, ascend and proceed to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Area.

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Kilimanjaro International Airport | Departure.

After breakfast, depart the Ngorongoro area and drive towards Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound international flight.

Depending on your flight departure time, there may be time for a relaxed morning before beginning the transfer to the airport.
