13-Day Uganda Adventure, Primate & Wildlife Safari Itinerary.

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe/Kampala. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for your Uganda adventure.

Overnight: Entebbe/Kampala.

DAY 2 – ENTEBBE/KAMPALA TO JINJA & QUAD BIKING.

After breakfast, depart for Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda, located on the banks of the Nile River.

Upon arrival, enjoy an exciting quad biking experience through the countryside surrounding Jinja. Ride along rural trails, passing through villages, farmland and scenic landscapes while experiencing local life.

Overnight: Jinja.

DAY 3 – WHITE-WATER RAFTING ON THE NILE.

Today, enjoy an unforgettable white-water rafting adventure on the Nile River. After a safety briefing and introduction from your rafting guides, set off along the river and navigate through a series of exciting rapids.

The experience combines adventure with beautiful views of the Nile and its surrounding vegetation. After the activity, return to your accommodation to relax.

Overnight: Jinja.

DAY 4 – JINJA TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK.

After breakfast, depart Jinja and drive westwards towards Kibale National Park, home to one of Africa’s largest concentrations of primates.

Enjoy the scenic journey through Uganda’s countryside, passing through local communities, plantations and changing landscapes. Arrive at Kibale and check in at your accommodation.

Overnight: Kibale National Park.

DAY 5 – CHIMPANZEE TREKKING & BIGODI WETLAND SANCTUARY.

After breakfast, head into Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, trek through the tropical forest in search of habituated chimpanzee communities.

Later, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided swamp walk. Explore the wetlands on foot while looking out for monkeys, colourful bird species and other wildlife.

Overnight: Kibale National Park.

DAY 6 – KIBALE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK & GAME DRIVE.

After breakfast, depart Kibale and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Upon arrival, embark on a jeep game drive through the park. Explore the savannah plains in search of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, lions and a variety of bird species.

Overnight: Queen Elizabeth National Park.

DAY 7 – GAME DRIVE & BOAT SAFARI IN QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.

Begin the day with a morning jeep safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The cooler morning hours provide excellent opportunities to observe wildlife as animals are active.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, where you can see large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous water birds.

Overnight: Queen Elizabeth National Park.

DAY 8 – QUEEN ELIZABETH TO BWINDI/MGAHINGA AREA.

After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive towards southwestern Uganda.

Continue towards the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park/Mgahinga Gorilla National Park area, enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Kigezi highlands, rolling hills and local communities along the way.

Arrive at your accommodation and spend the evening relaxing in preparation for your gorilla trekking adventure.

Overnight: Bwindi/Mgahinga area.

DAY 9 – MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING IN RUSHAGA.

Today is one of the highlights of your safari: mountain gorilla trekking in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your trek into the ancient rainforest. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.

Once you locate the gorillas, enjoy a memorable encounter with these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your accommodation and relax.

Overnight: Bwindi area.

DAY 10 – BWINDI TO MGAHINGA & SABINYO VOLCANO HIKE.

After breakfast, transfer towards Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Later, depending on the hiking schedule and conditions, begin your hike on Mount Sabinyo. The hike takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Virunga Mountains and offers spectacular views of the surrounding region.

Return to your accommodation after the hike and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Overnight: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

DAY 11 – MGAHINGA TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK.

After breakfast, depart Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and begin your journey towards Lake Mburo National Park.

Enjoy the scenic drive through southwestern Uganda, passing through rolling hills, farmlands and local communities.

Arrive at Lake Mburo and check in at your accommodation. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Overnight: Lake Mburo National Park.

DAY 12 – MOUNTAIN BIKE SAFARI, GAME DRIVE & NIGHT GAME DRIVE.

Start the day with an exciting mountain bike safari outside Lake Mburo National Park. Cycle through the surrounding countryside and experience Uganda’s rural landscapes and local communities.

Later, enjoy a jeep game drive inside Lake Mburo National Park, where you may encounter zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, elands and other wildlife.

In the evening, embark on a night game drive, offering a completely different perspective of the park. With the assistance of a spotlight, look out for nocturnal wildlife and animals becoming active after sunset.

Overnight: Lake Mburo National Park.

DAY 13 – LAKE MBURO TO ENTEBBE/KAMPALA & DEPARTURE.

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, taking advantage of the cooler morning hours and the opportunity for some last wildlife sightings.

After the game drive, depart Lake Mburo and drive back towards Entebbe/Kampala.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for refreshments or a short stop along the way before being transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.
